Showered with Love!

Since August, our life has been a whirlwind of getting ready for the life changing event of welcoming a baby into our home. With all the changes going on, there have been several moments that have made it REALLY real, like hearing "it's a girl!", turning the computer/paint room into a nursery, feeling Emma Claire dancing around in my belly, and having our first baby shower where we got all the gear we will need to take care of our sweet girl!

Chris and I are so blessed to be surrounded by friends and family who have supported us throughout this journey. When my two best friends, Katie and Jenny, started making plans in October to host a baby shower that would be held in February, I knew it was going to be a baby shower extravaganza!!! Katie's sister, Kristen, and Julie, a long-time friend of ours, hosted a fabulous shower in honor of Emma Claire.

The shower was held on February 19 and we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day. Walking into the shower, I thought to myself, "Wow! This is really happening! Ready or not, EC will be here before I know it!" It was so special to have all my friends and family there to celebrate the nearing end of my pregnancy and the new beginning Chris and I are approaching.

While friends and family been supportive throughout our journey, it has been great to share the joys of pregnancy with someone who is going through it at (almost) the exact same time as me. Shortly after I announced my pregnancy at work, a co-worker announced she had some news by telling our staff, "Ditto what Amy said." Crystal is due one week after me with a sweet baby girl, Mollie Rose! On March 8, our office threw a joint baby shower to celebrate what our boss called our "pending arrivals." It was so fun to celebrate with Crystal and open gifts together! Both Emma Claire and Mollie Rose are already spoiled rotten!

Chris' office threw a shower for us on March 25 during lunch. This was actually the same day we found out Emma Claire was breech, so it was a nice break from the chaos of trying to schedule the c-section delivery. All of his office staff, nurses and doctors were so sweet to celebrate Emma Claire! On March 26, we had our last shower, hosted by Chris' Aunt Shelley and Aunt Tracy. It was very relaxing and allowed me to spend time with family and close friends before the big day.

We are truly blessed to have so many people who love us and wanted to celebrate our little miracle. I can't wait for Emma Claire to meet all the people who love her so much already!
