On May 18, Chris, EC and I loaded up the car to spend the weekend at my parents' house in Mobile. Since my parents always come to Hattiesburg to visit, we hadn't been to Mobile since December. It was certainly nice to get away for a weekend! We were also thrilled to be able to spend the weekend with my brother and his girlfriend, Ashley, who flew in from Phoenix (very) late Friday night.
On Saturday, we introduced Emma Claire and Ashley to the Dew Drop Inn, Mobile's oldest restaurant. My brother and I ate many meals in the Dew Drop, wether we were with our family or hanging out with classmates after a basketball or volleyball game. You haven't experienced Mobile until you have eaten a hot dog at the Dew Drop!
Emma Claire loved her grilled cheese and mac and cheese!

After lunch, the boys and Ashley played a round of golf at Magnolia Grove, the course my brother and I grew up playing.
While they were sweating it up on the course, Mom, EC and I decided to do a little retail therapy. Emma Claire is such a good shopping buddy. I guess she is used to it :)

Gaga did a great job of keeping EC entertained in the dressing room!

Bath time at Gaga and Boppy's is oh so fun!
The highlight of the weekend was the FABULOUS dinner that my dad fixed on Saturday night. If you haven't had the privilege to experience my dad's culinary skills you are missing out!

Salad of mesclun greens and fresh fruit (blueberries, strawberries and mango) with apple cider vinagrette.

Coffee crusted beef tenderloin with a red wine reduction sauce over baby red bliss "smashed" potatoes mixed with butter and sour cream served with haricot verts tossed with herbed butter. |

A toast to many more dinners together!

1994 Hess Collection (Napa Valley) Cabernet Sauvignon
We also had boiled Gulf shrimp with homemade cocktail sauce served with New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc (Marlborough) as an appetizer and chocolate Napolean with french vanilla ice cream and fresh raspberries and raspberry sauce for dessert. Unfortunately, both were gone before I could get a picture!
On Sunday, we all went to church at St. Joseph's at Springhill College (the church where Chris and I got married). We took some photos outside the church. The campus is so beautiful!
